It is about a painting, "St. George and the Dragon", by Paolo Uccello in about 1456 which is in The National Gallery, London

Brilliantly read. As always. 5 stars from me, as always. You have a way with words, not just in engineering the way they're delivered, but in the way their meaning is emphasised.

I am impressed and, in these disposable consumer brainwashed days, not much does that.

i can certainly see how this poem may have been inspired by the facial expression worn by the lady holding the string. it seems to convey these thoughts with a sense of unimpressed annoyance. great poem -thnks kindly for sharing, cheers
