Irish nationalism (Irish: Náisiúnachas Éireannach) comprises political and social movements and sentiment inspired by a love for Irish culture, language and history, and a sense of pride in Ireland and the Irish people. Historically, Ireland has been politically united with or subordinate to Great Britain (with Northern Ireland remaining part of the United Kingdom today), and in this connection Irish nationalism has also embraced a desire for greater political or cultural independence from Britain and for an independent united Ireland.

Irish nationalism is associated with the Irish Catholic community, particularly in Northern Ireland, but the cause has historically been supported by many Irish Protestant nationalists.

  • Amazing to think that wise men gave their lives to give birth to the great ignorance and debauchery that sweeps our country now. And now that we are we have sold our freedom and are subject to central european rule as a result of our greed and corruption these great men are rolling in their graves no doubt. The land of Scholars and saints to this celtic lamb to the slaughter!!!
