@skinflint420 Your confusing origins naturaly or supernaturaly with afterlife beliefs they are seperate . You may want to ponder where all the dozens of people that where resurected with (many saints and prophets resurected with Jesus ). Where are they now ? Have you ever heard of the imortals that still roam the Earth except for the highlander TV show I know of none ? Did they float away into heaven as well ?

@flyingscience There were no world powers or religious leaders in the time of Adam and Eve....yet man still called upon him. Until science has a cure for death....im going to have faith in Jesus...who defeated death.....unlike science.

@rakeshakx Not completely true the way you're slanting it. You make it sound like no one ever believed in a literal interpretation until a few years back. Literal and allegorical intepretations have always existed and both have been popular and unpopular at different times.

@Aanthanur : May I request you to read "Genesis" (written by St.Augustine) circa AD 390. Many early fathers of church considered an allegorical interpretation of Genesis, and it's only recently that literal interpretation of Genesis came to the front.

but we can't blame the inventors of the story, they had no clue about evolution yet.
