Listen well. This is how My Country Tis of Thee should be sung. Beautiful and simple, powerful and blaitant, with grace and without flair. It speaks of absolute virtue and pure spirit, and when performed in this way, it is heavenly.

by Samuel Francis Smith , song was written in 1831- 32 at Andover during his student life there , the song was fist used publicly at a Sunday school celebration july 4th, in the park street church Boston , :) it was from God save the king, but re wrote for American republican patriotism
