There's a play entitled "Black Picture Show" (Bill Gunn) in which one character prepares another for the appearance of their dinner guests with the line "They're going to see Ethel Ennis so they'll be dressed." She has a select following.

Ethel is making a *rare* appearance at a venu called the Creative Alliance in baltimore on october the 16th (friday).

Ethel was a regular at the King of France Tavern - a great jazz venue- in Annapolis, MD back in the 80's. She has superb pipes and a great repetoire of jazz standards, having once toured with Benny Goodman.
