How to make portable Pencil torch spotting knives

Hey made this vid to get more people spotting, hot knifing, i personal get a better hit off spots, if you haven't spotted before you don't know what your missing,
this is a fast and portable way of spotting for only around $15 NZ to make it, here's how...

you need
2x knives
pencil torch (from a hardware store like mitre10 and repco even)
tape
card
pliers
grinder/metal file

gas, a lighter and buds...

It's really cool but I don't understand why not just use a lighter? What's the purpose of hot knifeing does it conserve on supply or is it healthier?
