Flying Crank Ghost

My first attempt at a FCG back in 2004. It's been in storage since, but I plan to give her a better neck/shoulder shape and movement. Next time, I'll also will angle her head down a bit. Check out http://www.phantasmechanics.com/fcghost1.html for original source info. Have fun!

what did you use for the body? looks like a silk bath robe? I like it

@skiingany1 - I used cheese cloth and roughly cut it to resemble a bathrobe. The body, sleeves and hood are all separate pieces that drape over the figure - no sewing required. :) The brighter spots on the lapel and belt are just doubled over.

Love your ghost as is....How did you place the blacklight...above or below??

I used a 18" blacklight strip light in front of the figure about 2 feet above the head. I restricted the light a little by using a piece of plywood with a 1 1/2" strip cut out to give the light a little more directionality and create some shadows.

I like it better with the slower 2 rpm motor. I've used that same model motor on a number of mods using this same basic design.

You used the 6 rpm motor, didn't you? I like it better with the slower 2 rpm motor. Try it sometime and see...

Excellent! I've looked at them all , this is the best one! This one lookes like it was made in hollywood! It looks REAL and theres no cheezy decorations near it ruining the effect!

I also like it the way it is. It has nice fluid motion and the arms aren't spread wide apart like many FCG I've seen. It's a very unique design.
