Colter Day's 1st Bowfishing Carp Kill

I love taking first timers and putting them into fish. This is a little video of Colter punching his first ever carp while bowfishing. Please pardon the cheesy hick soundtrack; I couldn't resist. This is a red-neck olympic event if there ever was one, but by gum, it's fun. Carp make a great garden fertilizer and heck, if we didn't shoot em' the fish and game department would probably have to poison the waterways to get rid of them. (They're a non-native invasive species to Oregon so there's no limit and no seasonal restrictions on killing them.)

nice my first bow kill was a snake at about fifteen yards. i had missed maybe fifteen gar cuz i was using a super long bow (my drawlength 26 1/2) and it popped out and my mentor said shoot him and bam!

Great shot. Got my first kill about the same time. Mine was a 2 foot spotted gar in Lake Murray SC. Was going to get it taxidermied, but the guy that helped me get my arrow out of the damn thing threw it back before I could say anything.
