This is a video of the game Quake 2, demostrating the enemies fighting each other.

Please note that I will be using my own nicknames for the monsters and levels:

C Sharp (Musical Note) - This is the Jail Level.

Drew - Enforcer
Trespasser/Ant - Berserk
Spider - Medic
Hyecha (Pronounced Ha Yee Cha)/McDonalds - Gladiator
Pizza Hut - Gunner
Peach (Princess Toadstool) - Flyer

^ This is how I refer to them when I am playing this game.

  • I SERIOUSLY need to make more Quake 2 videos, I haven't since I lost interest in early 2010 but one of these days I should post more like these. I used to play this game in 1999.

  • This is Simple:

The A.I Is set to attack ANYONE who hits them because of Co-Op mode.

So Naturally, once the enemy or in this case, the "Hut" Gets hit by the 2 Drews, It attacks them.

I do this ALL the time. Its funny to watch.

  • @PoisonImpurity868 I know this is a great unique feature of Quake 1 and 2, the new games do not have this, is there any special commands to make these monsters fight each other? Also I call them drews because I knew a guy from my 2nd grade class named drew who looks like them, and hut because I used to think of Pizza Hut when I were fighthing them, I made these words up in 1999, lol.

  • why software mode? opengl is much better and less cpu hog....

  • @hanrinch OpenGL makes the game look a lot uglier, I don't like the brown in the game. And plus, the performance is very shaky, even on newer computers.

  • Ahh Now I remember, the strings in the song 2 become 1 sounds exactly like the last track of this game.

  • @MrHueJazz1 Of all my old games, Quake II is the biggest pain in the arse to get working. Even Quake is easier to set up than bloody Quake II :(

  • I like the nicknames you came up with. I do the same thing sometimes. The Strogg designs are interesting. They much more versatile than the Borg. Imagine if there was a Quake IV mod that sorrt of reimagines the whole scenario of "stroggification," allowing you to choose what type of Strogg to become. Instead of just being a standard-issue foot soldier, you could be a Berserker, an Enforcer, a Gladiator, a Tank, or even the tank boss (the one that resembles that one boss from Smash TV).

  • The monster infighting was one of my favorite parts of this game! I haven't played this in a while. Is there a version that works with windows 7?

  • I love that ... when i was a kid i always do that because was funny and helps me to save my ammo :D

  • @judenihal

Well, If your playing on the PC, A simple rescript and or code of the enemys could make it possible.

  • When I play this game I usually just refer to all of the different monsters to whatever they are brandishing. Grenade Launcher guy, Railgun guy, Blade-Arm guy etc. The Medic is the only one I call by it's real name. I also noticed when I would play that no one would fight the lickers, anything bigger than the railgun guys, or anything that flew.

  • This is not a glitch. It's called monster infighting.
