This is what happens when an abcsess starts to leak, it will smell and attract flies. Maggots are seen because a fly nested in his would. Vet bill was enormous. but he survived. he was an alley cat that we adopted. no previous vaccinations. This all occured over just a few days. Left untreated, the maggots would have eaten him from the inside out.

  • to everyone who thinks he was being eaten alive... Maggots do NOT eat live flesh of anything, a maggot requires something to be dead they do not eat living things, for example, if you get bitten by a brown recluse spider the doctors have to pack the wound with maggots so they can eat the dead flesh to begin healing. i hope this helps
