  • It's the original matching number 1964 unit, nut with modified 8x31 bevel. Now after 40.000km with the 1776 ca. It's starting to run a little bad ( i think my syncronizers are going to die soon....) but it was a very molested tranny when it has the 1200cc.....time to change it for a better and stromger version ( need a lot of € for that!)

  • But thought the 2027 and 1776`s were the most reliable above stock?

I have a 1300cc which I am now going to modify to either of the above.

Even thinking of getting the mini dport`s for heads, with the 44 idf`s like yours.

What heads are you currently running Luca?

AND what is the max cruising speed you are getting with the modification of above? hp?

  • The 1776 for sure, also because volkswagen use it for some mexican versions, the 2027 i don't know, i know the 2110 is good.

I've 044 heads but they were tuned up more, enlarged, polished and fluxed

i got 178 km/h but i think i can do more, but it's too scary!! above 150 it starts to tremble everything on my poor beetle hehe

and about the HP I don't know, never tested on the dyno, i think its between 90 and 110 hp

  • hey men... what exaust did u use ???? it sounds GREEAAATTT!!! congrats..

  • thanks! i use the super -competition exhaust from CSP

  • nice sound ! Wish I had that power, my poor bug struggles with its og 1200 :(

  • 1200 its the only real way to go with a beetle, trust me!!! ok this is fun to drive...but the 1200 still the best engine...less problems, less mainteinance and you can't stop it!!!

  • what tranny are you using...!!??

  • @phitsvang I think its all about the bore size. Most of the big bore or stroker kits are either 92 or 94mm. The 1776s and 2027s usually have a 90.5 mm bore which leaves thicker cylinders that will last longer. That what i read anyways..

  • That sounds so great.

  • what was the 0-60 time?

  • you cant more then love it! 1776cc are an awesome combo! I will for shure go for it.

  • hey bud, I've been turning this vid on at work just to hear the exhaust while i type away. I myself have a 1915 powered 67 (red too), double 40s, but it sounds way more obnoxious with the glasspack. Keep up the good vids my man and chao.

  • hei.. nice sound.. i my bug use exhaust harley davidson.. also great sound..

    xD nice dude
