@JynxMasaomi In NGE it's Toji, though in Rebuild he doesn't even become a pilot. Eva-04 disappears so instead Eva-03 is sent to Japan, though since there's already 3 units in Japan (Eva-00, Eva-01, Eva-02), Eva-02 is enclosed because no country can have more then 3 units. Asuka chooses to be the test pilot for the new Eva instead of Rei so that Rei can go to her dinner party which happens to be on the same day as the testing for Eva-03.

We do not know whether Asuka lost an eye or not due to this incident, we are never given any evidence. I seems highly plausible, but we still have no proof, just like so many other parts of NME. We see her wearing an eye patch in the 3.0 trailer, but other than that, nothing.
You never know, something could happen in 3.0.

So,Am i the only one who thinks 1.0 and 2.0 is not just a rebuild but a reincarnation. I mean like at the end of evagelion the moon is stained with blood,and the waters turn to red. and on the rebuild its already like that.

Asuka doesn't die, she is under heavy medical care, and is alive and well by 3.0 if you saw the trailer.
