To help keep Virgin Atlantic in business during the British Airways Dirty Tricks campaign, Richard Branson sold Virgin Records for a reported $1 Billion to Thorn EMI in 1992.
Named after the very first Album released under the Virgin Records Label, Tubular Belle, a Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-400 delivered to the airline in 1994, makes her final approach and then lands on Runway 27R at London Heathrow Airport.
We hope you enjoy it!

Richard Branson makes flying with Virgin so much fun. I have now been on 'Lady Penelope', 'Jersey Girl', 'Miss Behavin', 'Mustang Sally', 'Tubular Belle', 'Tinker Belle', 'Jetstreamer' and 'Ruby Tuesday'. Can't wait to see what I'm going to board in September.

tubular belle used to be a 747-200. Flying from Newark to Gatwick. I flew her when I was really young in the late 80s, maybe once in 85. Guess shes been done away with and named a -400. That probably happened in the 90s actually.
