This video goes over how to use a computer and audio interface to record at home.

The opening was a fun idea.

  • Hey dude, love the video, very informative!

I need a suggestion for an audio interface. I want one which I can play normally with it (since I live in an apartment) and to record. I totally have no experience with these things so yeah x.x .

  • I can send you a message with a few suggestions however I also suggest looking up "Tweaks Guide" though google and read through that.

What do you mean by "play normally"...not sure what that's all about. An interface is just like a sound card but made to act fast and give more features for recording and playback.

  • I got through that guide, very good stuff, but now that I know the technical stuff, I need something that can get me good tone and versatility. So far, I've been thinking in getting a line 6 pod studio ux2 because it comes with podfarm. But if you have something to suggest instead, feel free to do so ^^.

  • the Pod UX line is fair and I would say go with them...although if you can, try one out as I had the older version of the UX1 around 3 years ago and didn't really like the tone of the distortion models....although most modeling software just isn't anything outstanding.

The interface itself is ok although if you don't need all the inputs, go with the smaller UX1 to save money.

  • You mean the toneport? And yeah I agree with you, the newer ones distortion is more for very heavy stuff. I just hope that it comes with a software like podfarm.

  • yea the UX1 and UX2 are the Toneport series of product. I've yet to hear and try out the new Podfarm software, as I said before the one I had was years ago and hardly even worked with Vista but when it was working the sounds from the old Gearbox modeling program where only fair. I'll send you a link to a demo I did with the older Toneport and you can hear it for yourself.

  • Sorry for the confusion, well, I meant that I needed something that I could use for jamming at home and to record but uh, I think I got it now, I just didn't know their usability very well.

I'll look up that guide and message you if I still need help, thanks for answering :P
