people bash these technics by saying that nobody should act like a hero. well its not about being a hero when theres a guy standing with a knife. in those situations you run and that is taught in krav maga. but these technics are meant for dire situations. so you suggest to just stand there and get stabbed? of course its best to do something and know at least a bit what to do when it comes to this. wouldnt you agree?

Should I not defend myself or my family if an intruder is in our house? Maybe I should just let an intruder rape/kill my wife and kids, because, hey, nobody should "be a hero" right?

It's not being a hero, it's valuing your life and your loved ones' lives and protecting them. The roll over and die mentality that seems so prevalent these days sickens me.
