It was the funnest thing I have tried, but for menu's, blah, I'd rewrite blender to see a menu.

smart,, but complicated.

can you use soft body crash in Carrara 7?
-
Does this only work with OBJ objects, because when i open up a 3ds file no window appears where i can manipulate the settings.

This is incredible! You really put a lot of work into this, and the end result was amazing.
I always wanted realistic destruction, and wondered why particles or the "explosion" modifier just didn't seem to get anything near the results I wanted.
Of course! Real things are made of real separate parts that break apart depending on logic and how they were made, NOT a clump of polygons Carrara selects randomly.
I think you're an inspiration to all animators who see your work on this.

You sound like Excl on youtube.

awesome. i'd like to see some tutorials for 8 with the updates sometime.
I use carrara to design tank positions for winerys and want to make them more detailed, I think the 3d paint function is what i want to use but cant work out how to do it or find any tutorials for it. Have you made any tutorials for useing the 3d paint function or any advice?
Cheers

@klaad8 I can't post links in comments but I think there were some in the Carrara forum at Daz3d. The people there are super helpful and friendly so feel free to ask in the forum if you don't find any tutorials that answer your specific questions.

whats the program you use to make the car parts?

@klaad8 Sorry for the slow reply. Wings3d is what I used to make the proxy parts. The high rez model is from Daz3d.

I was blown away by this! AOA -- should seriously consider submitting a tut on this for 3D Hobbyist magazine and/or C3DE online magazine. Concerning the proxy objects: do you just make them invisible after having grouped the high res version parts with them?

@galaxyroom1 Yep, you can just hide the proxy models.
Thanks so much for the encouragement. I don't know that my stuff is up to the level of C3DE though. There are some mind blowing works there. I'll keep practicing so maybe in time... :)
