Rushmoor is a UK borough of 93,000 residents in the towns of Aldershot and Farnborough with a highly mobile voter base. With a continuing trend towards lower levels of voter participation, the Council decided in May 2007 to implement an electoral modernisation pilot project. This would form a part of the wider UK Government agenda to modernise democracy and provide access to electoral services to citizens that would run in line with modern social and technological trends. This film explains the motivations for the internet voting trial and the results achieved.
