1973 Marathon Candy Bar TV commercial

This 1973 TV commercial is probably the first ever TV commercial for the 1970's Marathon candy bar. Features a wild west scene with a cowboy named Quick Carl. And features actor Patrick Wayne as Marathon John.

In the US, Marathon is nowadays part of the Snickers Energy Bar line.

Marathon Candy bars were awesome. Unfortunately, like many of the great old things they are no longer made. Very unfortunate. it was one of my favorites.

On another note I heard Hostess was filling for bankrupcy. Perhaps now we will loose our beloved Twinkees. Progress sucks.

I'm a caramel-oholic, and this was one of my favorites. I loved those Marathon bars. Give me a Marathon and a Rondo to wash it down with - that was junk food bliss...Thanx for the post!
