I knew what was going to happen and I still got butterflies watching this video. Switchfoot is awesome and totally deserved the Grammy. I'm so happy for them and I hope they win another one in the future.

Nobody's clapping...what is this?!?! It's freaking Jon Foreman, of freaking Switchfoot. If I was there, I'd probably be kicked out from cheering and screaming and clapping so loud...but nah, it's all these ztupid people who are probably like "who the heck are these surfer dudes?" love you Switchfoot, you're the best band ever.(:

Fuck me...whenever i come onto a bloody switchfoot orientated video all i see is a bunch of people arguing about faith. Shut the fuck up and enjoy the music!

@sarena46 "I made a mess of me.... there aint no drug to make me well... i want to spend the rest of my life alive"
"Free, come set me free, Down on my knees, I still believe You can save me from me"
"And when I reach the other side
I want to look You in the eye
And know that I've arrived
In a world where I belong"
these are not secular things. Jon writes songs to God, not to us. So he can say things however he'd like. it was a Gospel award so thanking God is implied i think

@IMCcanTWEESTED happy for switchfoot....
about not thanking God, i think it's simple because Jon always had different unique thinking about his music and his life, and maybe about take speech in an award show. it's still genuine speech
And i think the category is not suit for switchfoot, but i still love SF music both music and lyric.

Also if you look carefully behind Jon and Tim, you'll see their parents and Jons wife Emily. They look so proud its SO CUTE!

@bvideon i agree, you have to find a common ground, and you can use other types of music to reach people.. people might find out they are Christian and be like woah, let me check that out... but i just cant call the music gospel music.. and i just wish they would voice it more.. so when they hear the hope switchfoot seems to have in their music they would know it was from Jesus... God bless
-
@sarena46 You make a good point there. But sometimes non-Christians won't listen to all the worship stuff to start so they'll start listening to this kind of music and then they'll be more open to worship. I can see where your coming from though. God Bless

@bvideon i have everyone of their albums... they use the words scars and salvation and redemption..it could mean anything (none are on this new album)..i know plenty of people who listened to switchfoot and did not know they were christian..Switchfoot just uses a whole bunch of analogies and symbolisms
but 1 corinthians 1:17 says "For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect."

@sarena46 If you actually listen to the lyrics there's Jesus Christ throughout all their music. They might not say his name every 5 seconds of a song but there's a lot of truth in their music. And even if they didn't thank God for their Grammy the way they live their lives says more to people.
"I'm just blown away"
Is that a Hello Hurricane pun? :D

For the comments critical of Jon not thanking the Lord...maybe he didn't want to sound cliche in an industry that so cheaply gives Jesus Christ the glory, when their music doesn't. IMHO, their music does all the talking. not the acceptance speech.
