I'm surprised he didn't mention that the 2010 release omitted the addition dialogue used to fill in some of the silent scenes from the English dub. This version of the dub also restored the original music cuesand and removed dialogue that implied that Ursela knew the driver who gave her and Kiki a ride to Ursela's cabin. If you're going to watch this movie in English, I would highly recommend the 2010 release since it's considerably more faithful to the Japanese version.

Damn, love this movie! Pure, unadulterated win (Phil Hartman was the shit voicing Jiji, which made me love the character even more). It's interesting how even though I'm in my mid-20s (and a hardcore cynic), whenever I watch Kiki's Delivery Service, along with other Miyazaki films, I feel a sense of purity that penetrates my hardened disposition (but it feels honest and credible, unlike Disney films nowadays). Great job with this review.

Jiji's voice is Kiki's inner voice, I think. I mean Kiki is so innocent and pure, in contrast to Jiji.

Dub titles only - I can never ever understand that. DVDs are able to support multiple subtitle tracks, I don't see why they wouldn't include both, especially on a re-release.

You know what's kind of funny? I recently watched this movie for the first time, and when the ending theme came on, I started humming along and I was like "Wait, how do I know this song!?", and it drove me nuts during the whole credits. After a quick search of the song's title, I found that an arrangement of it was recently used as the opening theme for an OVA series called Tamayura (Directed by the same person who did the Aria series), which I watched as it came out.

I personally don't watch kid's movies or shows, but this film along with Places in the Heart, My Neighbor Totoro, and other Miyazaki films is an exception of a kid's movie that I never mind watching, or owning. For some reason, I'm not at all shy to admit that I love this movie and Miyazaki in particular. Takahata, Miyazaki, early Disney, and Pixar one can never beat when it comes down to good entertainment.
