There are 6 billion people in this world with 6 billion different opinions. Seeing as we cannot possibly be with somebody every second of their life, we do not know what that person knows and feel what that person feels. We do not know their life story.
Just as you would not want to be judged, do not judge the world.

Thanks, once again, for your clarity and simpleness.
I was wondering if you could help me, us, to decipher when "too much" time has gone by to contact someone we still have a feeling about in this way. Either as being hurt, or hurting in return, or just having a dirty interaction that ended badly. Is it "off" to write someone, say, after 15 years?

The below comment was actually meant in part for your question, saying it is never too long, because if you are still feeling it you need to act on it, so you can forgive them and let it go.

Wow! Those were the most powerful words that I have ever heard about Forgiveness. I have to listen to the rest of them! I felt 50 pounds lift off of my shoulders. My neck actually popped on both sides. It had been stiff for a while. How long is this forgiveness process? I'm ready to move on with my life. I've just started taking anti-depressants. I feel a lot better but I know that something is missing in my healing. I think I should write him a letter.

Sorry to not have responded sooner, but it was not till now that I saw your comment. I am so glad you are beginning to feel ready to forgive. It is never too long, because if you are still holding it, it is still there. So a letter may be in order. Try not to be blaming, but just to move toward forgiveness.
