There have been a series of cycling accidents in Ontario. The problems are three fold as i see it. Cyclists do not observe the rules of the road at all times and are cycling dagerously. Many motorists do not consider cyclists are road partners and treat them as such. And the police in someinstances do not look on cyclists as serious . My own experience where a man hit me on the bike, road off to the police station and reported bieng "scared by a big guy, I may have hit him" merited his immediate release as I lay on the road with a broken leg and a mangled left hand, whilein shock. It is time for all parties to be brought together by responsible government officials to try to end the disgrace this has become

  • It was a mess from the start, his almost hitting me forcing me to the curb, deliberately turing into me accelerating and racing off. As I lay with a broken leg and hand torn to the bone the attenting officer threatened me with a misdemanour of mischief..Close ranks and sweep it under the carpet. I have called in 3 complaints of cars racing light only to beignore ( With witnesses) So the problem are several, poor paths in may roads, cars and bike ignoring rules,. police indifference

  • He should have been charged for hitting you, but you shouldn't be chasing cars to give them a piece of your mind either. Though it sounds like he started it it's still road rage on both sides.

As someone who both rides a bike and drives a car I can say I've witness loads of stupidity on both sides and most of it stems from people driving too aggressively no matter what vehicle they drive.
