  • Yes, this is a fascinating look at the way animated cartoons were done before the computer age. A lot of hand drawing still goes into today's feature-length animated films, but modern, cheaply made TV cartoons use computers to generate the backgrounds and much of the character movement. The result looks a bit cold and machine-like.

  • @scotpens Saying the backgrounds and character movement are "generated" is a bit of a misnomer. These aspects still need the hand of a living person to come to fruition. Though I completely agree in the sentiment that television animation lacks the deep-rooted naturalism that can only be achieved through a pencil and paper.
