This is a 1:30 demo (he made it to be a screensaver actually) UArch recorded of the incredibly fucked up pulsating things the two of us made for EXU for the Possessed ISV-Kran, which is infested with... uh... hellsludge! Or something!
Each one randomly selects a DrawScale and pulse rate from a range set by the mapper (or the defaults), and it also selects randomly one of System Shock 2's creepy annelid egg noises. It also randomly selects a pitch value, sound volume, and sound radius. So when you combine lots of these things, you get a really nice variance of visual and audio dynamism. How fancy is THAT for hellsludge
Sounds a lot like System Shock 2.
