Yeah, that's our fence, and that smoker is less than 40 feet from our house. Sure, I'm a country gal who can appreciate a woodstove or a fireplace insert, but this stack is too low and far too close to be where it is! We're in a hamlet.
Sure they are saving heating costs, but what price do the rest of us pay breathing that acrid smoke in and running air purifiers around the clock?
Now you're costing me money and over-stepping a bit. Now we have a problem.
The smoke stack is too low or non-existent, the OWB is too close to surrounding homes and property lines, the smoke is choking and burning, seeps a stink right thru the walls like the house is on fire, not good for asthma or other respiratory conditions, and New York taxes are too high for this State, County and Town to NOT do something about it. Smoke doesn't stop at the fence-line!
Property values are low enough, who would want to buy a house next to this smoker? How about lowering property taxes due to lack of enjoyment for those who live next to these. Raise the taxes of those who own them and pollute the air.. Can't even step outside or take a walk for some fresh country air! Disgusting! You ban smoking in public places but you won't protect our homes? Regulate and yes, in residential neighborhoods where houses are close together, ban these things now! How many calls does it take? What do taxpaying residents have to do to get this to stop? Politics as usual.
