The phone is water resistant not water proof. Meaning you can use it in a light rain. If you spill your drink on it or drop it in the kitchen sink or a puddle for a few seconds, it will be ok. The phone might seem ok after using it underwater, but if a small amount water did get inside it would certainly short out or corrode components and cause a malfunction down the road.

WATER PROOF. OK. I have a question. How do I get this to recognize that I plugged it into the computer. I can't get the computer to respond. It won't ask me to import pictures and videos. NEED HELP urgently.

How much dammage was done to the weak thing? I've heard they are millitary proof. I'm getting mine today, and gonna do the same thing.

I don't recommend doing this. I took my Rugby underwater and talked on it. The phone still worked, for awhile. It actually still works, except that I had to buy a cradle to charge the battery. Because the water got in on the side where the charger plugs into and the wall charger will no longer work.

well there is a water seal on the plug for that port and if you dont have it in all the way water will get in but i still find it impressive by all means
