1995 Johnson 30 HP Outboard

1995 30 HP Johnson Outboard on a Grumman 1542B fishing boat. (Ignore the 20HP cover.) At full throttle, and with one person, it will do 31mph, and I do get to full throttle in the video. It has a 10"x15" Michigan Wheel Corp Ballistic prop on it..Grumman did not know how to measure correctly, so the boat has a 17.5" transom. That is why tthere is so much spray. One day I will get a mini jack plate to correct it.

Starting in I think 1976, Johnson and Evinrude used the same 31.8 c.i. engine block for 20 through 35 HP motors. At some point they stopped making the 35, but continued with the same 20-30 HP until I think 2004.

did you upgrade the carb to 30 HP? If so, did you also get a 30 HP intake manifold, or just bore out the original intake manifold with a file to match the 30 HP carb seal?

@Motorchevytoyota I love ours. It is a great all around motor. I have 15-inch pitch prop on it in the video, but I have a 13-inch pitch, and it's impressive how well I can sling a tube around with it.

I'm glad to know that, there's a lake I can't get on because you have to have 25hp or less. I have a Johnson 30. I'll just get me some stickers, or a cover.
