@slamer123 Who cares if you lose a leg to a giant spinning bar. Man that is better then any pirate story of some whale eating it. "So how did you get the peg leg?","Oh I got attacked by a combat robot","dannnggg, and you survived? You must have been in the terminator movies."

Note to safety crew: Both robots must be completely shut down before competitors shake hands or stop looking at their machines.

exposed wheels are like candy to spinners

@Toxictorch Ya I know the safety proceedures, I wrote them. The safety rules apply to every match in every weight class by everyone. There are no exceptions. Safety in this sport is no accident. If I was running this event there would have been some serious butt chewing after this incident. Both of these guys are friends of mine so I know they would understand why this stuff must never happen at an event..

@slamer123 Usually the more dangerous bot driver goes in first and powers down, and then the second team comes in... but these guys are veterans, so the risk of safety makes it more fun!
what kind of etek does last rites use?
UBConquered 3 months ago
@UBConquered The brushed kind. Brushless Eteks require a brushless controller and have a different torque curve. The expensive controller is a weak link in the chain and you're better off without it.
Many of the builders, including Last Rites', are active on the RFL forums (Google "RFL forums"). You can get lots of advice and share designs, invaluable if you're a first-time builder.

What causes the blade to consistently stop spinning during the rb10 matches?
uncomplientspud 1 year ago
@uncomplientspud When the blade comes to a sudden stop, it puts a lot of stress on the mechanical bits of the bot. Spinning the weapon back up repeatedly draws a lot of current and can burn up the motor, batteries, or both. It kinda comes with the territory when you build a big destructive robot.
