So in this universe making a transgalactic communication is so easy a pothead can do it, as long as a scientist is available to build the devices for it in advance. Making contact with aliens is as easy as sending an email, in fact since this takes place in the mid 90's it's even easier than that. Oh AYAOTD you so crazy.
