Prior to VTEC, non-VTEC engines were configured for one camshaft profile only. This can either be configured for better performance in either high RPMs or low RPMs. VTEC allows the engine to have two camshaft profiles to which it can switch to depending on how the vehicle is being used.

So basically VTEC let's you have the best of both worlds while non-VTEC only let's you have one or the other.

I know dude you got cams in there, but I was wondering if you actually adjusted your valves after the install? Alot of valvetrain noise. I am running Buddy Club Spec III in my B20 vtec and your's sound alittle on the noisy side. But other than that very clean car !!!
