Off of his debut album, "Christoper Cross", in 1980. "Sailing" went #1 in August 1980 and won Christopher Grammy Awards for Best New Artist(Christopher Cross), Album of the Year(Christopher Cross), Best Arrangement and Song of the Year(both for Sailing), a feat that has yet to be duplicated. The song has been covered by Phajja(1997), 'N Sync(1998), Barry Manilow(2007), Big Bub(2008), and Avant(2008). Christopher was born in San Antonio, TX and the "shirt" he is wearing in this video is that of National Football League Hall of Famer Houston Oilers #34 Earl Campbell's Houston Oilers #34 jersey. Two other trivial facts about Christopher and the song is that the song was used by Winston to sell cigarettes and that the "Family Guy" charector of Chris(the oldest son) is named after him(full name:Christopher Cross Griffin).

  • my ultimate favorite song of all timesssssss!!!

  • Timeless chill-out classic this tune..

  • I like this song but the fact that he produced it for NSYNC back in the day tells you he thought that JC Chasez sung it better. Hell "I" think he sung it better. Totally love the NSYNC version of the song

  • This song help-ed me meet a chick in Raplhs, i was like yes.

She was just singing the song out of nowhere randomly, i said hey is that Christopher Cross, and you know the rest.

  • Endless, no matter who does the knock off, it is a simple good song, that touches everybody, history

  • It's my favorite song of all time.
