Here we have a really hard, old fir about 5' on the stump. It is hanging ahead 15 to 18 feet with about 6 to 8 feet of side lean out to the left. It needed to be bored and "popped" off the stump to prevent pulling a magnum amount of wood out of the butt of the tree. I hung with it a few seconds to make sure it was headed where it needed to go - then darting away.
Unfortunately, the camera did not catch the short butt log out in front that this tree blew to the right side about 20' in addition to knocking over the whip to the right. Thankfully, neither the shorty in front or the second cut were broken when the bigger one hit.
I had filled in a low spot just in front of the shorty butt log with some tops and that came from the left. There are oaks coming from both directions. The bigger fir took the span and did not belly break.
It is "Smashsish", like a narcotic (I am guessing here) in a sense, because of the adrenalin rush when you are not sure if the plan will work perfectly or you end up with complete carnage.
Godspeed for me that day because things were working out well.
Thanks for watching!

  • So ive cut wood my entire life, if you were on my lot and you pulled that shit, it would not be long and youd be sent down the road, (OMG) the messed up part about this video is you think that you are a proffesional and you are showing others how you do as well, you cant be doing that. someone is going to get hurt, please people if you have a tree to cut dont follow this video. when im not buzy working ill show you how to cut a tree the right way.

  • @pwnyplse No offense, but you have not been cutting (if you actually are a timberfaller) long enough to know it all...Perhaps you should read the verbage describing the ins and outs of what is going on.Additionally, you might get more insite by asking some questions versus judgment. Furthermore, unless you were standing there at the time, you have no business commenting on right or wrong....In summation, I have other tricks in my arsenal, but if you think I am showing them all, plz guess again.

  • i have watched several of your videos hotsaw, you have more experience than i,but im curious...whats your arguement that an overhand or conventional cut is more accurate?just curious

  • @swersh They do not roll off. Thanks for watching!
