The UNC Institute for Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy presented its 2010 Award for Public Service to Allen Roses, MD, FRCP, on September 14. As part of the event, Roses presented a seminar titled "Translation of a new genetic predictive marker to a Phase III Alzheimer 'delay of onset' clinical trial."

Roses is the Jefferson-Pilot Professor of Neurobiology and Neurology at the Duke University School of Medicine. He also directs the Deane Drug Discovery Institute at Duke. Before returning to Duke in 2008 to head up the institute, Roses was senior vice president for genetics research and pharmacogenetics at GlaxoSmithKline.
