George Wallace was shot by Arthur Bremer while campaigning for the presidency in Laurel, Maryland, on May 15, 1972 at a time when he was receiving high ratings in the opinion polls. Bremer got close to the candidate, then pulled a .38-caliber revolver out of his pocket and emptied it. Three other people; two male security officers and a female spectator, were hit as well.

Wallace was not actually a racist. he only stood for racism to gain votes. not that im pro racism and im not deffending him, but by the end of his political career he did alot to help civil rights too. so if you are one of those that belive that he was a hero for seggrogation, get your facts right.
