Howling Basset Hounds

When the local public address sirens are tested each month, Walter and Freckles howl along with the sirens as they rotate around the city.

Walter is our 6 yr. old tri-color, and Freckles is our 8 yr. old tan and white basset hound.

@HumveeRazon Ours shed a lot also. It's normal.  Just get used to the taste of dog hair.

Mine did the same thing. She kept her nose to the ground constantly and then she'd smell something and wham... take off like a flash. I was a kid then she'd yank me to the ground.

Ah, the basset it it's natural habitat. I knocked the legs off my dog's couch- she prefers it that way.

My 4 month old basset doesn't howl so much as he "Barkhowls". I've tried to entice him to howl, but he hasn't yet. Maybe when he gets older?
