TVA Coal Ash Disaster 12-23-09 TVA tells people to boil water

More footage from the disaster site. Matt shows us the piece of paper TVA was distributing to residents telling them to boil thier water. After going to Roane County on Dec 22, 2008 we watched the local news and learned that TVA was instructing people to boil their water before drinking it. This concerned us becaue we knew that if you water was contaminated with heavy metals that boiling it would only concentrate the heavy metals. We decided to print up some information and drive down and start going door to door letting residents know what types of chemicals may be in coal fly ash based on analysis of coal fly ash from other sources. We ran into TVA employees handing out "Boil Your Water" notices and followed them for the rest of the day handing out our own notices right afterwards.
