The Danse Society- Godsend (The Video)

Hello,

This is a cover of the song called 'Godsend' by The Danse Society. This was recorded on 21st January 2009. The bass rhythm played by the bassist, Tim Wright, is very hypnotic and catchy on this one. I just tried to play along to the record yesterday and I just couldn't stop playing it. Eventually, I figured out all the bass parts. This was one of the few songs I learnt in just a few minutes.

The intro of this song sounds as if a group of people are chanting some sacred mantras and there is a drone like sound as well which gives this track a very spiritual feel and sets the tone for the whole song.

Ok, when I was as old as you I also was' t good.

But you have a good taste for bands.

The Danse Society have been one of the abolut best wave bands of all the time and I have all their records.

Maybe you should try "Somewhere" the next time.

@7syn- Danse Society had a certain degree of potential for sure. I think their main strengths lie in their rhythm section and keyboard playing. I only started listening to their songs about 20 months ago. In fact, 'Seduction' album was the first one I bought in 2010 and it is a classic. I really like bands that have interestingly odd ideas and wonderful musical sensibilities. Danse Society is one of them.

@7syn- Yes, 'Somewhere' is a great song. I love it and will cover it one day. But my absolute favourite is a song called 'In Heaven (Everything is Fine)'. I think it is one of my top 5 favourite songs of all time. That song says it all and only a special band can make a song like that.

'In Heaven (Everything is Fine)' is good, but not one of my favourites, it sounds a bit like a 80's horror movie theme :-) (but I like all Danse Society songs, accept some of the "Looking Through/International" album).

Yes, the rhythm section and keyboard playing of the Danse Society was very unique, I like the faster tracks the most.

`Heaven is Waiting' is also a realy cool album!

Specialy "Wake up", and "Red Light".
