  • What a rendition!! This is, without a doubt, the best rendition of Bruch's Fantasy that I have ever heard. What makes it so terrific is that Oistrakh is not racing to a fire. This piece is meant to be played like one is chewing on a piece of steak to get all of the juices into one's mouth, not like a hungry dog gobbling up a pound of hamburger. King David, Indeed! He more than proves it in this performance.

  • Oistrakh is a great character, like few violinists show. Beats me that those characters don't exist anymore. Nowadays we are having very fine and sophisticated violinists. They are technically so very well developed. I adore them...but...where are the real distinctive personalities?

  • Wow, those were quite some runs there.

  • This brings back many memories when I used to listen to all .violin music I could tune in to on radio. Times have changed now, thank goodness, and superb works are available at your fingertips today. It's a charming work, very sentimental. Thanks for posting it.

  • The man can do no wrong.

  • Incredible !

  • Thank you so much for posting this! A wonderful interpretation by King David.
