Ciocârlia (meaning the skylark) is a well-known Romanian lăutaresc tune, composed by the Romani-Romanian naist (pan flute player) Angheluş Dinicu[1][2] in the virtuosic style of the urban lăutaresacă music from late 19th century.

Wikipedia states that Angelus Dinicu(G.Dinicu father) was the composer. But I doubt that. I think. is the divine spirit itself who was the composer, that´s more likely.

This is from the Romanian folklore, Porumbescu didn't compose it, just interpreted it very good
Nimic nu este mai divin decat aceste melodii,care vor ramane pentru totdeauna in sufletele romanilor,iubitori de patrie si de valorile inestimabile,care din pacate,multe dintre ele au murit,iar in locul lor se nasc idiotii....mie intotdeauna mi-a placuta mai mult melodiile originale,inregistrate prin '40...'50...de exemplu,chiar si cu calitatea sonora mai putin buna,dar totusi,...te unge la suflet,numai bine!!!
