There are more bald eagles in Alaska than there are in all other states combined. Residents blame the local bird woman for attracting them and have vowed to stop her.

"Ecologically, she's totally unaware", complains biologist Edgar Bailey. He claims that by feeding the eagles in an urban area, Jean Keene is threatening the ecosystem of the entire region. Already, the eagles have started attacking pets and there's concern they pose a risk to babies. Some residents have taken matters into their own hands and started shooting the birds. Ironically, by trying to help the birds, the eagle woman seems to be putting them at risk.

i live in AK, and i know feeding wildlife is wrong. They teach you that here when you are less than 2 years old! This is bad because now the eagles are dependent on her. When she dies, they die. Great.
