Filmed 7/2/09. 46115 'Scots Guardsman' chuffs back into Carlisle after running round in the yard. This was the charter from Manchester Victoria to Carlisle via Wakefield Kirkgate and Hellifield. It was hauled by 47787 between Manchester Victoria and Hellifield, as we passed it in a Hellifield siding.

  • When electrification was brought in they painted a yellow stripe on the cabs of locomotives to denote that the engine wasn't to be worked South of Crewe.

With the Scot being under the wires here, the stripe's missing.

  • Any time :-)

  • Cheers Iain!

  • Cheers Bob! Needed a break outside as i'd seen the steamer before and we only had two hours in Carlisle for a nice walk around. If it was there longer and if there was a Duff on the rear I would have had different ideas. Cheers Bob!

  • Never have known or noticed to be honest Mr. Stanier, cheers!
