@borris93 Atman is the Hindu way of referring to the imperishable in every human being. So they titled it Atman to mean that Dime lives on through his music :)

-
@metspin1 Wow, really? I don't think anybody else knew that.

This is a tribute to Dime listin to the dive bombs man, Dime invented those.
-
@BrutalChild Quite the opposite for me really. I found the rest a little too repetitive for my liking but Alex's playing is always jaw dropping and refreshing. Just depends on ones perspective I guess.

one of my best in THe 11:11 album

This song is dedicated to Dimebag Darrell on the album.

The guitar just pierces your soul.

just you buddy, and I happen to think it's a brilliant idea to have a metal style solo in a song like this.
Skolnick rips it up!
Plus R&G started out in thrash metal band called Tierra Ácida and I think, especially in songs like this, you can see their metal influences - in the riffs, harmonies, rhythms, and in the structures.
Imagine this piece played as a fully amped electric instrumental by a band like Testament! Boom!
-
@BrutalChild Yeh your the only one, Alex kills.
Am I the only one who stops listening as soon as the electric guitar comes in? It doesn't fit well with the song.

@BrutalChild yep, just you there. i was lucky enough to catch them live last year in London with Alex Skolnick and can tell you that when he came in it was just incredible - enough to give me shivers!

As much as I appreciate this is a tribute to the almighty dimebag, I dont see how it has anything to do with him. Can someone please explain? These guys, btw, are so underrated, they put pure talent, and emotion into their music. I'm really into them, and will love them for evermore. But yeahh... please someone explain! Thanks.

@borris93 i'm not actually too sure - i reckon it's probably just there way of saying thanks :) also if you look on the 11:11 DVD, there's a bit saying that they wanted alex skolnick to compose a solo in the style of his writing, something like that :)
