was gunna say, with an acception of some, people that do all the flashy stuff properly don't know how to defend themselfs with it, unlike the traditional people which actually learn to attack and defend, instead of twirling it around for show.

I agree with wolvoboy.. although compition style Bo techniques are nice to look at and testing.. the traditional kata techniques are practical and usable as a defence technique
