@Pregolegs It's true that he must be more comfortable performing with his brother, but it's also true that a 12-year old was without any support on stage, sang beautifully and ended up winning the competition. I think LD miller stood a chance (albeit a small one; a young singing girl has more appeal than a young harmonica-playing boy) of taking home the grand prize.

Piers, what a nasty man are you? it's just a show and not about becoming a star right now.you are not the one who chooses the winner but americans are. it is not ur problem whether or not the young boy separates from his brother.the companies that will make record deals with them later will be more concerned about it than you are. your job is to find people who can entertain the audience and tv viewers.you can say your opinion,but buzzing was a very inappropriate and arrogant behavior of yours.

this kid has talent, that's for sure, but seriously he wasn't a John Popper. when he's playing those very fast runs, that's actually not that hard. in fact he does the same licks over and over again. I don't blame him, because he was only 12 back then, and he probably will become one of the greatest one day, and off course this is talent competion so you have to show everything you've got to impress, but I blame the ignorant judges who called him the best player already.

@Pregolegs I actually kinda like the voice of the older brother. It's got a certain roughness that works very well for this song. I also agree with everything else you said.

I got the feeling that John Popper, unlike most of the "guest teachers", takes a real genuine liking for LD and interest in mentoring him. Maybe it's just an act, but I don't think so. LD probably reminds John a lot of himself.
