It's not a fungus. If I remember correctly it's called a "port wine stain". It's a type of dark birthmark located on the face.

Thanks. This was made with a JVC HD-250u camera shooting in 720p 24fps. I think I edited this in Sony Vegas 7. Color was done in Magic Bullet in After Effects.
