This year's film projections at Auckland War Memorial Museum focused on women in war. Director Gaylene Preston begins her 25-minute edited never-before-seen footage with the women watching their brothers, sons, husbands and fathers go to war before skilfully taking us through the new world that faced women during WWII as they held their families together, coped with strict rations and stepped into the breach left by the men that had gone to fight. The full length footage ran for 25 minutes and screened on the Museum's northern facade from Friday, 22 - 24 April 2011.
