  • hey i have photoshop cs4 and my dodge tool doesent work on certain colors. know why?

  • @Techrave1 It does that sometimes. Try changing the mode to highlights or shadows, see if that helps.

  • ahhh i see now its turning more into a picture o.o guess i shouldnt judge before seeing the finished result xD

  • No problem, most of my pictures start off really messy and freaky. I always prefer to work rough and then tidy things up later. :)

  • Amazing tutrial. Great techniques shown aswell. you could create very good art, if you master them. very good for beginners too.

    thanks for upload.

  • Thanks for the kind comments. This tutorials is really old now, but I'm really glad to see people can still learn the basics from it.

  • Hi, I'd have a question. It looks like you can place those dots everywhere but when I try to draw something, it allows me to place dots only on the lines

    P.S.: Great videos!

  • Yes, but it could be very hard to do if you try painting it with a mouse. A better way would be to cut and paste from a photo or use a tablet to paint it.

Anyway, glad you liked the vid.

  • It has been a long time since I worked on this, but usually I set the dodge tool very low...5% - 10% to avoid the highlights getting too strong.

  • thanks... i have a question though. what what was the percentage of exposure for the dodge tool?
