Naturalist Linda and cricket/katydid specialist Lisa Rainsong were at Observatory Park in early November, where the insect orchestra was gradually fading as the weather cooled. This Marsh Meadow Grasshopper, however, still had singing on his mind. "This is the first time I've ever seen a grasshopper sing," Naturalist Linda said. "See how he rubs his hind legs against his wings? Crickets and katydids on the other hand, rub their wings together when they sing. I think this grasshopper is just adorable!" Added Lisa, "These sweet little grasshoppers have been singing at Burton Wetlands, too."
