No, Carl was instrumental in working out a permit system with the Park Service that allowed us to jump. For one summer the Park Service allowed 12 jumps each morning before 9 AM. I jump at about 2:30 on the vid, and was El Cap number 373. I'm sure Carl had a number less than 10.

Yes, 'regular skydive rigs' for in those days base rigs had yet to be invented, nor had personal computers, cell phones, or video camcorders! Most of the guys that jumped that day had round reserves! Those were the days!
