Marple Junction is at the junction of the Macclesfield Canal with the Peak Forest Canal (Lower) and the Peak Forest Canal (Upper).
Since the crew were ashore on pillage and grocery shopping duties there was not much else for your noble skipper to do but watch the boats go by, so I decided to film them.
The whole sequence lasted about 15 minutes so what we have here are the edited highlights (using highlights in the "Watching Grass Grow" sense)
The first boat we see is called New Horizons and offers canal day trips for people with disabilities around the canals of North West England aboard the specially designed , wheelchair friendly narrowboat.
Their web site www.newhorizons.org.uk has further information and good photographs of the canals in this area.
